देश के उत्तर-पश्चिम इलाके में मानसूनी बारिश का दौर पूरे सितंबर तक जारी रहने की संभावना है। भारतीय मौसम विभाग (IMD) के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने जानकारी दी है कि उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत से मानसून के अगले दो सप्ताह बाद पीछे हटने की संभावना है। आम तौर पर देश के इन इलाकों से 17 सितंबर से मानसून विदा होने लगता है। यानि कि 4 महीने के मानसून सीजन का यह अंतिम सप्ताह है।
