मृतक 26 वर्षीय शगुन महंत और घायल उसके पिता रवि महंत पाली भंडार खोल गांव के रहने वाले हैं दोनों गुरुवार की रात पाली से एनटीपीसी अगारखार घायल रवि महंत के बेटी के घर जा रहे थे इस दौरान कटघोरा थाना अंतर्गत मोहनपुर एनएच मुख्य मार्ग पर यह हादसा हुआ है जहां बाइक सवार से पिता पुत्र डिवाइडर में जा टकराया। इस हादसे में बेटे की घटना स्थल पर ही मौत हो गई वही पिता गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया देखते ही देखते राहगीरों की भीड़ एकत्रित हो गए और इसकी सूचना 108 को दी गई। जहां मौके पर पहुंचे घायल को तत्काल जिला मेडिकल कॉलेज के लिए रवाना किया गया।

वहीं घटना की सूचना मिलते ही कटघोरा पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और घटनाक्रम की जानकारी लेते हुए मृतक के परिजनों को इसकी सूचना दी गई जहां उनका बयान दर्ज कर आगे की कार्यवाही शुरू की गई। मृतक के परिजनों ने बताया की इस घटना के बाद परिजनों का रो रो कर बुरा हाल है और पिता पुत्र एनटीपीसी अपने बेटी से मिलने जा रहे थे जहां पारिवारिक कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने के बाद सुबह वापस लौटने की बात कह कर दोनों गए हुए थे।
