परिवहन सचिव संजय कुमार अग्रवाल ने सभी डीटीओ, एमवीआई को लगातार वाहन जांच अभियान चलाने का निर्देश दिया है। साथ ही यह अभी कहा कि अगर कोई बस बिना फिटनेस, परमिट, स्पीट लिमिट डिवाइस के चलती पाई गई तो इसके लिए दोषी जिला परिवहवन पदाधिकारी और मोटरयान निरीक्षक जिम्मेदार होंगे।

कई लंबी दूरी की बसें टूरिस्ट परमिट पर चल रही हैं
अब आज, बिहार के उन जिलों से ग्राउंड रिपोर्ट- जहां की बस दूसरे राज्यों में भारी तादाद में लोगों को ले जाती है। यह रिपोर्ट बताती है कि सिर्फ वही बस खटारा नहीं थी, जो उन्नाव में हादसे का शिकार हुई। सिर्फ वही इकलौती बस नहीं थी, जो नियमों को तोड़कर रोज राज्य और दूसरे प्रदेशों का सफर कर रही।

सीतामढ़ी, शिवहर गोपालगंज से दर्जनों की संख्या से अधिक स्लीपर डबल डेकर बसें दिल्ली, पंजाब, हरियाणा व अन्य राज्यों के बड़े शहरों तक जाती हैं। हालांकि, इसके मानक का ख्याल बिलकुल नहीं रखा जाता है। लंबी दूरी की इन बसों में से ज्यादातर में पुरानी बसों में ही मनमाना बदलाव कर डबल डेकर बनाकर चलाई जाती हैं। बस में बदलाव के लिए एमवीआई से मंजूरी भी नहीं ली जाती। बिना मंजूरी मनमाने बदलाव के बाद भी अवैध बसों का फिटनेस एमवीआई कार्यालय से पास हो जाता है और इस आधार पर इन्हें टूरिस्ट परमिट मिल जाता है।

टूरिस्ट परमिट पर ही ये लोग परिचालन करते है। इन बसों में क्षमता से अधिक सवारियों को ठूंसकर बैठाया जाता है। एक बस में 70 से 80 यात्रियों को ढोया जाता है। मनमाना बदलाव कर डबल डेकर बनाई गई बसों को लोहे के चादर और प्लाइवुड से पैक कर दिया जाता है। इनमें न इमरजेंसी गेट बनाया जाता और न स्पीड गवर्नर लगा होता है।
