जंगल सफारी में बाघिन ‘बिजली’ की मौत गंभीर लापरवाही का परिणाम – डॉ. महंत

रायपुर, 18 अक्टूबर।छत्तीसगढ़ विधानसभा में नेता प्रतिपक्ष डॉ. चरणदास महंत ने जंगल सफारी में बाघिन “बिजली” की मौत को गंभीर लापरवाही का परिणाम बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि एशिया के सबसे बड़े मानव निर्मित जंगल सफारी में बेजुबान वन्यजीवों की सुध लेने वाला कोई नहीं है। समय पर सही इलाज न मिलने के कारण युवा बाघिन बिजली की अकाल मृत्यु हुई, जो प्रदेश के लिए अपूर्णनीय क्षति है।

डॉ. महंत ने बताया कि बाघिन बिजली ने फरवरी 2025 में दो शावकों को जन्म दिया था, जिनमें से एक मृत पैदा हुआ और दूसरा कुछ दिनों बाद अस्वस्थता के कारण मर गया। गर्भावस्था के दौरान ही बाघिन बीमार रहने लगी थी, लेकिन मुख्य वाइल्डलाइफ वार्डन और जंगल सफारी के संचालक की घोर उपेक्षा तथा अयोग्य पशु चिकित्सकों की वजह से उसे उचित उपचार नहीं मिल सका।

उन्होंने बताया कि जब बाघिन ने खाना-पीना छोड़ दिया, तब जाकर उसे गुजरात के जामनगर स्थित वनतारा रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट भेजा गया, जहां उपचार के दौरान उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। वनतारा के चिकित्सकों ने स्पष्ट किया कि जंगल सफारी के डॉक्टर बाघिन की बीमारी को पहचान ही नहीं पाए और गलत इलाज करते रहे। सफारी में सोनोग्राफी मशीन तो मौजूद है, लेकिन उसे चलाने के लिए कोई प्रशिक्षित तकनीशियन नहीं है — इसी कारण समय पर जांच नहीं हो सकी।

नेता प्रतिपक्ष ने कहा कि यह कुप्रबंधन की पहली घटना नहीं है। बीजेपी सरकार आने के बाद से ही जंगल सफारी में कई दुर्लभ वन्यजीवों की अकाल मृत्यु हो चुकी है, परंतु वन विभाग सुधार लाने में नाकाम साबित हुआ है। ऐसे मामलों में जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कोई कठोर कार्रवाई न होने से लापरवाही की घटनाएं बार-बार दोहराई जा रही हैं।

डॉ. महंत ने खुलासा किया कि जंगल सफारी में पशु चिकित्सकों के 20 स्वीकृत पदों में से 18 लंबे समय से रिक्त हैं। विपक्ष कई बार विधानसभा में इस मुद्दे को उठा चुका है, यहां तक कि प्रमुख चिकित्सक की लापरवाही प्रमाणित होने पर उसे हटाने के निर्देश भी दिए गए थे। लेकिन वन मंत्री की निष्क्रियता से स्थिति जस की तस बनी हुई है।

डॉ. महंत ने मांग की है कि बाघिन की अकाल मृत्यु के लिए जिम्मेदार मुख्य वाइल्डलाइफ वार्डन, सफारी डायरेक्टर और संबंधित चिकित्सक — इन तीनों को तत्काल निलंबित कर उनके विरुद्ध कठोर कार्रवाई की जाए। साथ ही, जंगल सफारी में व्याप्त कुप्रबंधन को दूर करने और रिक्त पशु चिकित्सक पदों को शीघ्र भरने के लिए वन विभाग को स्पष्ट निर्देश जारी किए जाएं।
